Youth Care & Practice Policies

Do parents need to be present during virtual youth appointments?

Yes. A parent or legal guardian must be present to establish consent and provide history during evaluations. For teenagers, parents remain reachable throughout the appointment and join for care planning.

How do you balance teen confidentiality with parent involvement?

We provide adolescents with private time during visits to express their thoughts openly, while ensuring parents are fully updated on treatment goals, medication plans, and safety matters.

What age range do you treat for youth care?

We provide telehealth services to children and adolescents, partnering closely with parents and guardians to ensure safety and age-appropriate treatment.

How are ADHD medications managed safely for minors?

We follow strict safety protocols. This includes checking state Prescription Monitoring Programs (PMP/PDMP), designating a single pharmacy, and scheduling regular follow-ups to monitor growth and response.

Can school accommodations or paperwork be requested?

Yes. When clinically indicated, we can discuss recommendations to assist your child’s academic environment.

Insurance, Billing & Telehealth

Is child and adolescent telehealth covered by insurance?

Yes, we are in-network with major insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, Regence, Optum, UnitedHealthcare, and others. Copays or deductibles apply per plan.

What states must my child be located in during appointments?

Your child must be physically located in Texas, New Mexico, or Washington at the time of each telehealth appointment.

What is your cancellation policy for youth visits?

We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed visits are subject to a fee that cannot be billed to insurance.

How do self-pay rates work for pediatric visits?

Self-pay families receive a transparent Good Faith Estimate prior to scheduling detailing all expected charges.

What if my child experiences a severe crisis or emergency?

Telehealth is not for emergencies. If your child is in immediate danger or expressing thoughts of self-harm, please call or text 988, call 911, or take them to the nearest emergency room immediately.
