Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Medication Management & Protocols

How does online medication management work?

After an initial evaluation, follow-up visits (CPT 99214 + 90833) are conducted via video. We evaluate your response to treatment, adjust dosages if necessary, monitor side effects, and send prescriptions directly to your pharmacy.

What is your policy on controlled substances (e.g., ADHD stimulants)?

We strictly adhere to state and federal safety guidelines. Clients prescribed controlled substances must utilize a single designated pharmacy, consent to Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP/PDMP) checks, and participate in periodic compliance monitoring.

How do I request prescription refills?

Refills are routinely managed during your scheduled follow-up visits. If a refill is needed outside of a session, please contact our office at least 5 business days in advance.

How long will I need to be on psychiatric medication?

Medication duration varies per individual. Some clients use medication for short-term support during acute stress, while others benefit from long-term stabilization. All decisions are made collaboratively.

Can I receive therapy and medication management together?

Yes. Combining psychotherapy with medication management often produces the best clinical outcomes, and both can be integrated into your care plan.

Insurance, Billing & Policies

Are medication management appointments covered by insurance?

Yes, we bill directly to major networks like Aetna, Cigna, Regence, Optum, UnitedHealthcare, and others. Copays or deductibles apply based on your plan

What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?

We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed visits are subject to a fee that cannot be billed to insurance.

What states do you accept patients from?

We provide telehealth services exclusively to patients physically located in Texas, New Mexico, and Washington.

How do self-pay rates work for medication management?

If you do not use insurance, you will receive a transparent Good Faith Estimate prior to your appointment outlining all costs.

What if I experience a medical or psychiatric emergency?

Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you are experiencing a crisis, please call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
